DEFENSIVE STATS

GOALKEEPERS AND DEFENDERS

The table above shows the current clean sheet statistics in the Premier League. There are some surprises up at the top of that table which could provide a cheap way to a number of points.

The one that interests me the most is Aston Villa. As you can see they have the joint most clean sheets in the league, and take on West Brom this weekend. This would suggest that they are likely to keep a clean sheet and take the three points as West Brom find themselves at 19th place, with the most goals conceded in the league.

Obvious options for easy points would be the usual Spurs, Liverpool and Man City defenders who are all expected to win their respective games this weekend.

ATTACKING OPTIONS

Above is a table of the amount of goals each Premier League team has scored this season. At the top sit Liverpool, so by default their attackers will be the most expensive as they are the most likely to score.

When looking at it closer, I can see Southampton sitting at 3rd. This may be a nice and cheap route to plenty of points from the likes of Che Adams and Danny Ings. They take on Manchester City who haven’t been at their best this season, especially after that 1-1 draw against West Brom. In my opinion, you can expect both teams to score in this fixture.

Another surprise is West Ham. Looking at that table, they have scored more goals than the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City, Wolves and Arsenal. They will take on an out of form Chelsea, who have just been dealt back-to-back defeats, so may be an option for some cheap points.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

M. Salah (14.5M) – Once again, its Mo Salah who is the one to watch in my opinion. He just can’t stop scoring this season as he has now dragged his way to the top of the scoring charts with 11 goals in 12 games. Liverpool will take on Crystal Palace who have the second least clean sheets this season, so I expect Salah to capitalise and score. Due to this, he is my pick for captain going into this game-week.

O. Giroud (12.6M) – Olivier Giroud is on fine form at the moment for Chelsea and has fired his way to be Chelsea’s top goal scorer this season with a sweetly struck volley against Wolves. I expect Frank Lampard to stick with the Frenchman this weekend against West Ham, making him a great option for a forward this week.

P. Bamford (8.1M) – Leeds have a tough game this weekend, but that makes no odds to Bamford’s scoring ability this season. He has 9 goals in the league this season, even scoring against the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, so I can imagine he is prepared for this weekend. At 8.1 he is a steal for your frontline, and I think he is going to guarantee points this weekend.
